Merino sheep produce some of the best wool in the world, soft against the skin and ultrafine making it suitable for blending with other fibres. This high quality wool has grown to be synonymous in its use with leading brands and luxury clothing.
While the Bushtail possum might be considered a pest to native New Zealand forests, the animal’s fur has a unique hollow structure that is used to create a warm, comfortable and lightweight garment with excellent wearing qualities. AVOCA MERINOSILK CARE INSTRUCTIONS
1. USE WOOL DETERGENT.
This is most important, other detergents are too harsh for the garment.
2. WARM HANDWASH on all merinosilk garments except active range.
When washing by hand only submerge in the water for maximum of 5 minutes, don’t leave garment soaking. This can cause damage to garment.
The standard merinosilk garments are labeled with hand wash as many of them have buttons. They can still be machine washed if customer is careful. Buttons & zips need to be done up & garment turned inside out to avoid catching in the machine. Garments can be put in a bag to wash.
WARM OR COOL MACHINE WASH ON SHORT GENTLE CYCLE INSIDE OUT
This is on all Active range. These garments are all made on the whole garment machine and are knitted tighter.
If using a machine put on gentle cycle. Best to wash separately as putting in with lots of other garments may cause rubbing. All machines have a gentle or wool cycle on the machine, this is a shorter cycle.
3. WARM RINSE.
When rinsing by hand ensure that you don’t leave soaking.
4. NORMAL SPIN DRY.
Use the spin cycle on the washing machine after you have hand washed the garment to get the water out.
5. DO NOT TUMBLE DRY.
Best to avoid the dryer as if left in too long or too hot it can damage the garment.
6. DO NOT BLEACH.
This will damage fibre.
7. DO NOT RUB.
This could make garment pill.
8. DRY IN SHADE.
Very hot sun when garment is wet is not good for it.
9. LAY FLAT TO SHAPE.
If garment has gone out of shape in the machine or when hand washed then you can place it into shape while damp.
10. WARM IRON.
Ironing is not required but a warm steam iron can be used.
11. DRYCLEANABLE.
